Wedding Preview - Jennifer & Gary

March 29, 2010

As we enjoy the sunshine and warm weather in Kansas City, it's hard to believe it was only about a week ago that we covered Jennifer & Gary's wedding. Through the cold, the wind and almost a foot of snow, we captured this memorable day. When you are planning a wedding on the first day of Spring, I'm sure a day of snow is not anywhere on your radar. Jennifer and Gary took everything Mother Nature had to offer and made the best of it. We have posted a preview of some of the images from their wedding, and you can view it below. We are still working on the pictures and will have them completed soon.

Introducing Soft Top ThinWraps

March 15, 2010

Soft Top ThinWrap

Picture frames are so 2000! - 50% off our ThinWraps for a limited time!

ThinWraps are a stylish new way to display images from your Portrait Session. ThinWraps are made using the following process. First, the image you selected is printed with a luster finish then coated with a soft Satin laminate for added protection. The treated print is mounted to either Masonite or Gatorboard, depending on images size. There is a foam layer between the print and mounting board for added dimension and the edges of the print are wrapped around and adhered to the back of the board. Each ThinWrap comes backed with 3/4" thick lightweight foam blocks with holes drilled for easy hanging (pictured below). The mounting blocks hold the print away from the wall for a contemporary float effect. For information about pricing or to place your order, click here.

Metallic Finish Prints

March 11, 2010

Many of our customers ask us, "What is metallic finish, or what is the difference between metallic and luster finishes?" We are asked so often, we decided to dedicate a blog topic to it.

Goodwin Photography's Metallic Finish has a glossy finish and metallic appearance that creates images with great visual interest and depth. Prints have vivid color that seems to pop off the paper producing flattering skin tones and vibrant contrasts. Luster Finish has a fine grain pebble texture and can be described as a combination of a matte and glossy finishes. It has a slight shine like a glossy finish but resists fingerprints and glare like a matte finish. It is not easy to explain with words how a print with our Metallic Finish adds character and appeal to an image that is already amazing, it is something you really have to see for yourselves. It's great to see our customers' reactions the first time they see one of their pictures in our Metallic Finish. They finally understand why we cannot truly explain what it looks like as they are left speechless from the results.

Recognition for Social Responsibility

March 1, 2010

Goodwin Photography Blog - Trevor Goodwin

Last April Trevor Goodwin was presented UnitedHealth Group's (UHG) Living the Mission Award in recognition of Goodwin Photography's commitment to giving back to the community. Over the past two years we have worked with several organizations generating donations over $10,000, but it was our Why Pink Campaign that helped gain UHG's attention. We were featured in UnitedHealth Group's 2009 Social Responsibility Report, an executive summary of 2009 achievements and highlights of key initiatives focused on promoting healthy lives. Goodwin Photography will continue with our commitment to give back and are looking forward to a much larger Why Pink Campaign in 2010.
