Muse Project Session 3.2

May 26, 2010

We attended the Muse Project in April, as Photographers of course, and had the chance to work with some great people. We worked with several models that made our jobs as photographers so easy, it was hard to take a bad picture with this group. We would like to thank everyone for making it a great event. Check out the pictures from this session by clicking here.

Avondale Rd Grand Opening

May 24, 2010

On Saturday, we were there to witness the grand opening of Avondale Rd, Kansas City's newest boutique. There was good food, an amazing clothing line, a fun atmosphere and beautiful artwork. Many neighbors stopped in to say hello and of course, to shop! We were not able to stay long, we had the kids and a busy day ahead of us. We were able to take some pictures while we were there. We have a couple below and the rest of them in a gallery here.

Restyle Runway 2010

May 17, 2010

The 2010 Restyle Runway was a huge success. This event is sponsored by the Friends of JCDS and has grown significantly since it's creation in 2009. The Friends of JCDS helps to provide resources for people with disabilities. Restyle Runway is a fashion show featuring local fashion students and emerging designers. They are required to use clothing from Goodwill to create their line and the top 3 designers win scholarships. We covered the event for the second year in a row and came away with some great pictures. We have a few images posted below, if you would like to view the entire gallery, click here.

Refresh Why Pink with $25,000 Grant

May 3, 2010

Why Pink

Amy and I started Why Pink over two years ago as a way to tie our passion for photography with our passion for giving back to the community.  Over the past two years we have met some great people, took some amazing pictures and helped raise over $10,000 for charities that support breast health.  We have chanced upon an amazing opportunity that would allow us to expand Why Pink and touch the lives of even more people.  We have applied for a $25,000 grant from Pepsi through their Refresh Everything Project.  We need your help and have provided details below.

Pepsi is giving away over $1,000,000 every month to individuals, businesses and organizations with ideas that will have a positive impact.  Why Pink has a positive impact and could have an even greater impact with some additional funding, why not us?  We have submitted an application for a $25,000 grant and our application was accepted!  We are reaching out to you to vote for Why Pink and help us get this grant.  The top 10 ideas in our amount category will be finalists, and we can reach many more people with proper funding.  We have a link to our profile below, it has information about how we plan to allocate the funds from the grant along with information about the Why Pink campaign.  Please help us by voting, you can vote once a day.  Vote early and vote often.  Thank you so much for your support and stay tuned for updates and additional details.
